XVCD stands for eXtended VCD.
XVCD has same features as VCD but it is possible to work with higher resolution and better bitrates for getting higher video quality. XVCD burned in "VCD" Mode on the CD-R or CD-RW is usually played on some hardware VCD or DVD players many computers with appropriate software.
